Three clients named finalists for the 2012 Marketer of the Year awards

April 24, 2012

Finalists for the 2012 Marketer of the Year awards have been announced by the Rochester Chapter of the American Marketing Association (RAMA). Three of Dixon Schwabl’s clients made the list: Vote Be Heard, Abbott’s Frozen Custard, Inc., and The Salvation Army of Greater Rochester.

The Vote Be Heard campaign was a result of volunteers in the business community coming together to encourage good citizenship and inspire higher turnout in the 2011 Rochester City School Board elections. Along with many business leaders, the Dixon Schwabl team put together a comprehensive campaign that successfully increased the number of registered Rochester voters. Responding to a call to action, Vote Be Heard resulted in 2,500 new registered voters in Rochester.

Dixon Schwabl worked with Abbott’s Frozen Custard, Inc., to redesign its website to illustrate the frozen custard company’s delicious, high-quality products, strong family support and upward growth trajectory. As a result of the redesign and new website launch, AbbottsCustard.com has experienced a large percentage of new users, increased page views per visit and a low bounce rate.

With a post-recession economy, shift in volunteerism and increased need for critical services in Rochester, The Salvation Army sought the help of the team at Dixon Schwabl to rejuvenate its annual Red Kettle Campaign. With the help of nearly 100 volunteers from Dixon Schwabl and a new integrated marketing strategy, The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign met its goal for the first time since 2005, raising $573,036. The Salvation Army increased the number of volunteers from 7,500 to 8,000 and implemented a social media campaign to showcase the “Characters for Change,” including volunteers in full costume with their families and pets.

The Marketer of the Year Award is presented to a company that has demonstrated excellence in marketing in the greater Rochester area and has contributed to problem-solving and business growth.

The winners will be announced at a reception on May 17, held at Artisan Works. Congratulations to all finalists!
